Although My Homesteading Project may not be a "Christian blog", I am a blogger that is a Christian. I can't imagine my life without Jesus Christ! I love Him so much and I know He loves me. He has brought me through many tough times and has always provided a way for me when I thought there was no way. I have peace, joy and love because I know Him. I'd like for you to know Him too.
There are many faiths, religions & beliefs in the world today. Many have similar ideologies and practices, but there is only ONE true way to attain salvation and eternal life with God in heaven... through Jesus Christ!
Now, I know that many will call me intolerant and narrow minded to even dare to say that every other religion is wrong. Well, I didn't... God's word does.
"This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
Acts 4:11-12
"For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time."
1 Timothy 2:5-6
"Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." "
John 14:6
"Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other."
Isaiah 45:22
You can only be saved through the name of Jesus Christ. The good news is that God loves us so much that He wants us all to be saved and come to Him.
"who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth."
1 Timothy 2:4
"The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance."
2 Peter 3:9
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16
It is simple to be saved. It only takes a moment but the results last forever! These are the things that you need to know, understand and believe.
1. We are sinners.
"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
Romans 3:23
2. There is a price for sin - eternal death, separated from God in hell.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 6:23
"And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire."
Revelation 20:15
3. Jesus paid the price for your sin by dying on the cross and shedding His blood for you.
"but God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have been justified by His blood, much more shall we be saved by Him from the wrath of God."
Romans 5:8-9
4. Jesus is not dead. He was raised on the third day and is now in heaven praying for His followers.
Matthew 28:5-6
5. Being a "good person" or doing "good things" can not save you.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast."
Ephesians 2:8-9
"yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Jesus Christ, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified."
Galatians 2:16
6. You need to admit your sin and tell God you are sorry.
"Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out,"
Acts 3:19
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
1 John 1:9
You see, God knows who you are, He loves you and He wants you to know and love Him. That's what Christianity is all about... having a relationship with God. He doesn't expect us to be perfect (no one is), He loves us just as we are. We could never ever earn our ticket to heaven on our own. That's why Christ died for us... so we could be forgiven. God loves us that much!
So, can you admit that you are a sinner and ask God to forgive you?
Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God (God made flesh) who died for you?
Do you believe that Jesus was buried and rose again 3 days later?
Do you want to get to know God and follow Him?
Then pray this prayer...
Dear Lord Jesus,
I know I am a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe you died for my sins and rose from the dead. I trust and follow you as my Lord and Savior. Guide my life and help me to do your will.
In Your name I pray,
Amen.
If you prayed that simple prayer, you are now saved! It is that easy!
To help you along in your new walk with Jesus, I would recommend the ESV Bible (all of the scriptures quoted here come from that version as it is accurate and easy to read) to begin to learn about who God really is. I also suggest that you find a good Bible based church. Fellowship with other Christians is very encouraging. Please just remember, none of us is perfect, Christians are just like everyone else. The difference is that we are forgiven and can ask God to help us when we fail.
